Easington Lane Primary School

Awards

This is the latest achievement award we have got. It is called the Activemark because it is only given to schools which are trying to get all their pupils involved in a number of activities both in and out of school.

One of the reasons we received this award was in recognition of the amount of PE and sports activities we do in our school. We have the usual PE lessons, but we also offer activities after school, such as Martial Arts, Netball and Cheerleading. We take children to other schools to participate in festivals, workshops and tournaments in a wide variety of different activities, including Tag Rugby, Indoor Athletics, Football and Hockey.

We have  been awarded this Charter Mark

for the work we do to promote football in the school.

We are sometimes given free tickets for professional matches

because we hold this award.

Unfortunately the Government no longer give these

Achievement Awards - they ceased in 2003.

We were fortunate to win the award for two years in a row.

They show that the school was doing very good work

and achieving high standards. We are still getting the high standards, in fact we now do better than when we got the award!
